MIT researcher analyzing Human-AI systems, developing open-source site
As an Undergrad Researcher, I assisted comprehensive data collection and statistical analysis, examining over 100 experimental studies at the forefront of human-AI collaboration and dissecting more than 300 effect sizes. I used analysis tools such as SQL, Matplotlib (Python), and Excel. I then created a JavaScript open source webpage presenting all data, with filter features to display subsets of data on human, AI, and human-AI performance metrics and results. The research aspect of this project focuses on comparing human-AI combination performance to either alone; the findings suggest that in decision-making processes, human-AI combinations perform worse than the best of humans or AI alone, whereas in content creation, there were potential gains that point to the potential for improvement within human-AI systems.
