I-CREATE YOUTH
Founding Director of organization empowering disabled youth
As the Founder and Executive Director of I-CREATE YOUTH, my role aims to empower a global community of over 400 disabled youth through language in its various forms—from computer programming to poetry. From spearheading STEAM fellowship programs and curating exhibitions and anthologies to supervising a dedicated team of 172 volunteers and overseeing impactful projects, I am deeply committed to advancing disability justice through language and activism. Previously, I have mentored 15 research projects on writing a paper on eco-ableism, creating an accessible chrome extension, and designing an art exhibition on mental health among others. I have also partnered with Braille Institute to host 5+ interactive STEM and writing workshops, namely focused on accessible web development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, or audio-poetry and songwriting. Under my leadership, I-CREATE YOUTH has received $4,000 in grants.
